Sounds like what happened with me and my last PC. I'm still not sure, since I've never taken it in, whether it was bad RAM or the Fan that made my PC overheat to the point that it shut down and never restarted. You might want to take it to get looked at. It might be an easy fix. :x
I just really hope it wasn't the RAM you just bought...
::house calls:: Could be the PSU. They can cause widespread instability issues as they slowly die until... phhhht! Don't worry, they're cheap & usually pretty easy to swap over. Although a new computer would be so shiny!
A new computer would be shiny, but my credit wouldn't be after I bought it. I'm not gonna invest on a cheap computer. If I buy one, I'm gonna buy myself a fucking good one.
PSU would be my best bet, since I can just drive happily to CompUSA and buy/install a new one.

Maybe it's too old and the ram was too fast? :/

But I've been told that it's a good computer and still had a few years left on it.
*pulls on hair*
I just wish I was home and could check on it, but I can't leave work, and this is frustrating to no end.

Jiggle the mouse a bit and call tech support (or the person who you already called) in hysterics. They'll know what to do. *hugs*

Well, you can, but I can't guarantee that any good will come of it.
