Reading your own posts for the whole of the prior year is quite the experience. Specially in the sense that I'm mostly all talk and no action. I'm still at the same job that I quite hate. I'm still living at my parents' house. I'm stil fat as ever. I'm still single. I'll be 27 this Friday and I haven't done shit with my life.

Anyway, i was going back to look for the date I bought my computer (8/25/07) - and where does time go?! I need to check if I got the 1 or 2 year warranty and I gave all those papers to Mom to keep safe and she says she doesn't have them.... grrrr.

Anyway, I need a new job. This one is sucking the life out of me. I really can't handle it for much longer.

I've been having computer issues at home, so I'm sorta on and off. My computer freezes up, shuts down and/or starts beeping. And when I get it to work, LJ won't load at all, even when every other site loads normally. Firefox won't open lj at all and IE barely opened my Friends page but wouldn't skip back. Both stay "loading" permanently. I'm not sure if it's a virus (AVG is giving me an all clear, though), a software error, a hardware problem or just regular whathefuckery.

I'm extremely frustrated. it's a fairly new computer, but I bought it at CompUSA so making use of the warranty with them seems unlikely. I'll probably end up giving it to one of my bf's, who's a computer genius, or take it to this computer sales/repairs store that's pretty reliable. I hope I don't have to replace any hardware....

Well.

I have my new Gateway up and running. I got myself a 19" widescreen monitor to go with it and a new desk (cheap but very pretty!).

Me is d/ling MS and setting up all nice and proper.

Dad just called me to say that my computer started smoking and it shut off. It won't turn on and now I'm fucking pissed off.

I'm swear I'm thisclose to fucking my credit up and ordering a new fucking computer.

Woohoo!!!!

Well, the monitor drama has today come to an official end. I've got my shiny new replacement monitor, my 19 inch monitor. WOOOOO!!!! I was making do with an old work monitor, 15 inches of dark colors and permanently etched images (it was used for a monitoring program that was kept on the same screen, always) on it.

Yay to my Dell warranty!

So, it was the monitor after all.

Thankfully, the Dell guy went through everything with me, and he had the magnificent idea to see if I had another monitor. I do. A really, really, really old, smaller Compaq V75 that had gotten from work at $15 to use it for another old comp (that I've yet to set up). But it works!

Due to me being in PR, I've got to call on Monday (latin america/caribbean support is mon-fri) to get a replacement.

But I can play Maple!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yay!!!!!

Last night? Comp was working perfectly fine. No distortion, 800x600, beautiful. Played MS with Nikki and Kelli. Good times.

This morning? It went back to 1024x768, ON IT'S OWN!, if I put it on 800x600, and I haven't dared open MS...

Fucking shit computer/v-card/monitor.....

I'm not sure if it's the video card or the monitor that's f'ed up.

If I try to open MS or other full screen game, the picture goes wonky, concave glass effect, streched out in the middle, close together at the edges. With MS it's more pronounced, though. And I can't lower the resolution of my screen to 800x600 as I normally have it (near-sightness) or it distorts too.

I don't want to make the investment on a flat panel monitor right now, not because I don't want it (I do!), but because car & insurance payment are due this week. Though... I get paid this week....

But it may be the video card, then I make the investment for nothing. Not what I want!

ARGH!

If I take a screenie of my distorted monitor, but when I open it, it's not distorted, is it the video card or the monitor?

Help!

Uh, this means no MS (fuck!), until I figure this out.

Aparently it's the power supply something or other.

Dell People said the tech might come tomorrow, but Monday or Tuesday for sure. I'm guessing tomorrow or Tuesday, since Latin American Support doesn't realize Monday is 4th of July.

This sucks in so many imaginable ways. I have a long weekend, and I might not have a computer to enjoy it on.

And just when I got broadband.

Thank God I can at least check my mail on my sis' computer, but, on limited time.

If they don't come tomorrow, I shall resign myself to watching tv and reading all weekend with few intervals of checking email on sis' comp.

My computer's motherboard and/or power supply are dead. They flopped, flapped, had a dramatic goodbye death scene, they breathed their last breath, and died.

They is dead. Me is sad.

At least I was a good girl and bought the parts and service 3 year warranty from the good ol' people at Dell, so my account isn't gonna scream.

But, since I'm in PR, I have to wait till tomorrow (why why why on a long weekend?!) because no 24/7 service for latin america. ::punches someone::

Tomorrow I call Dell.

Tomorrow I once again will get my student-driver license. Definately need to drive and own a car for my new job.

Friday I'm filling out the paperwork for my new job. Also need to buy office-casual clothes. I only currently own jeans and t-shirts.

Saturday is my last day at Borders.

I got my wand and tie from Alivan's. 15 inches, Unicorn hair, Holly. And Gryffindor tie. My robe is being tailor made by Velvet Kerfuffle. And I have to get my shirt, and the fabric for the skirt (I will either try to make it myself or find a seamstress). And I need to go to a Kmart or Priceless to find the shoes.
