Ha... I'm tweaking my lj... got a paid account... I'm very happy with my 15 icons... :-D

I'm supposed to be working... I'm too lazy, and I serve Procrastinos, god of procrastinators, ever faithfully... ;-P

What was it that I was gonna post??? oh yeah!

The word count for Feb's entry to the Joxerotica 2005 Challenge lowered to 750, so my status is:

1,199 / 750 (159.0%)

Same as the other day.... and the story isn't finished! ARGH!

*head-desk*

I have one week... 7 days... 168 hours... 10,080 minutes to get this finished. I fear for myself.

Congrats on the paid account! Isn't it fun? Now you can play with all the different styles and make your own header graphics, etc. If you decide to do any of it and get confused, let me know. I recently wrestled my LJ style into submission and I have some great links that help with it.

Stories never hold to that word limit, do they? Either you can't get enough words in or they blow right by the limit.

Yeah... I did minimal tweaking (I was supposed to be working), but when I get the chance I will play around more. I actually like the look of my lj right now, I like this style, but if I can play around with another style I also like, I might change it to that one.

I also need to get myself photoshop so I can play around with icons and headers... I'm not *too* artistic, but at least I could make icons however and whenever I like, then.

Check out the Component style. I think it's the prettiest of the ones out there, also the most widely used (it's what I have on my LJ). Whatever you decide on, there's probably a community on LJ to help you with it. s2_for_dummies is a great place to start if you get into the S2 styles.

I don't know much about Photoshop, I work with PSP. But I think Photoshop really is the best program to work with. I wish I would've gotten into that one instead of PSP. Good luck finding a decently priced copy of it (although the student version should be far more cheap than the professional one).

Icon making is addictive, I'll warn you right there. If you think getting any writing done is hard now, just wait until you start iconing. *G*

Yeah, I know what I'll be getting myself into... just the thought of searching for pics and then tweaking them until they're just right.... ::sigh::

No... word limits are nasty, but plot bunnies are downright evil. And now, I'm stuck... and it sucks... and it must be bad if I'm rhyming... ::sigh::

I've only ever managed to meet an exact word limit with drabbles. I can't seem to do it in regular stories. They usually end up much, much longer. And I can totally sympathize. The Spander ficathon stories for bloodclaim are due next week and I haven't worked on mine in about a month. It was going great, then I realized it needed a rewrite on one section and suddenly all the inspiration dried up. It most definitely sucks.
