August 24, 1920 - US Goverment gave women the right to vote.
1955-1968 (and continued) - "Separate but Equal" laws, along with segragation are abolished, and anti-discriminatory surge, allowing African Americans the same rights as white people.
Civil Rights Act of 1964 - besides race, color, sex or national origin, a person's religion cannot be cause of discrimination against said person.
The Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967 - no one can be discriminated against based on their age.
Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 - no one can be discriminated against based on any physical disability.

Previously thought of 'inferior' people are given the same rights as the majority (controlling majority).

I know one day anti-discrimination because of sexual orientation and legal gay marriage will find their place on this list.
