Jan. 16th, 2006 04:00 pmI've been sans internet for two days. And I just had to replace the power supply of my computer.
Why?
Because of the big ass, motherfucker of an electrical storm that hit yesterday.
It was raining... no biggie, my comp was on and I was watching SeaQuest (because of the coolness and the lack of internet) and this lightning bolt struck practically on my backyard!!! The lights went out immediately and my battery/voltage backup did NOTHING and my computer turned off.
No light all night... I played Scrabble with the parental units by candle light.
This morning... light. But no juice to the comp. After a call to Dell (and my big stupid stupidity, I told them about the storm, thus cancelling out the parts and service contract) and a trip to CompUSA, I installed the power supply myself (yeah, like I was going pay CompUSA $120 +$60 +$80 for them to tell me it was the power supply, nothing else), and I have my computer again (just $70 for the power supply and $12 for extended warranty).
Thank God my Photoshop is working again.
Oh, and I almost couldn't get out from behind my computer desk. Twice. It's amazing how easily you can contort and wedge yourself into a corner. But getting out? That takes skills.
This was supposed to be a nice long weekend.....
