update - the root canal

So, today was the first visit for the root canal I'm having done in one of my front molars...

I like my dentist. He's really good, and took care not to cause me any pain. I actually left laughing (afterwards, him, his wife (the receptionist), mom and I were joking around about I can't remember what).

The clinch? The $165 I had to pay for this visit. Ouch.

At least, the next one is on the 3rd of february, and my paycheck comes on the 4th. So, I don't have to actually worry about getting through for one week with nothing (the next visit is $160).

My mouth tastes funky, though. And I need to go take my meds now (antibiotic and anti-pain). And there's a little bit of discomfort, and my jaw aches! but, thank God, no real pain, which is nice.

I'll admit, I went in all cool and collected... on the outside... but I was tensing every muscle I had in there... it's just... eek! "He's working inside my tooth!!!"

::sigh::

Let's see if the Muse wants to cooperate... she ran away this morning when she realized I was going to the dentist...
